Description S2-IR Illuminator utilizes high-power infrared LED, which are shock resistant and vibrational proof. S2-IR handheld illuminator is a supplemental infrared source for NVG and other night vision devices. Unlike other LED-based IR Illuminator that use only a single optically enhanced IR LED to produce a weak and narrow IR spot, S2-IR Illuminator is an incredible 4-watt infrared source that provides excellent distance in illumination to 300 yards and more with a very broad view angle. (Refer to the comparison photos below. Performance depends on atmospheric conditions.) S2-IR Illuminator can also provide additional luminosity for home digital cameras with night vision mode. S2-IR Illuminator is crafted completely out of aerospace grade aluminum tube using precision CNC machine. The exterior is in our anti-reflective, anti-corrosive, and anti-abrasive military spec Type III hard anodized finish. All connections are sealed with double O-rings for extra protection against water leakage. The head is interchangeable for alternate light sources with optional conversion heads. S2-IR is operable with tactical momentary PentagonLight™ signature TC-1-HA tail-cap switch. It is housed in our pentagonal shape anti-roll tail-cap making it easy for one-hand operation. An ultra-tensive titanium lanyard hook on the tail-cap is designed for attaching the included lanyard. Two PentagonLight™ CR-123A lithium batteries with 10-year shelf-life are included. An indispensable tool for the darkness, S2-IR Illuminator provides supplemental infrared source for those dark corners and unexpected places.
